Storyteller and Writer, Travel Blogger, Event Planner, Culinary Instructor

Through my decades in the St. Louis community working in the hospitality and culinary professional as well as 13 seasons as a local farmers market manager, I have curated many long-time, trusted relationships with chefs, restaurateurs, small business owners, farmers, producers, locally branded food entrepreneurs, artisans, and musicians as well as community leaders. As a past board member and President of the Missouri Farmers Market Association, I have statewide familiarity with farmers, food artisans, chefs, and producers.

My continued sincere passion and support for our local small businesses have brought me to where I am right now.

Freelance writer

I propose to introduce you to a variety of fascinating and entertaining people and scenarios, the businesses and organizations that are in your midst. Through my story telling, you will be transported into their day to day routines as well as their adventures. The goal of my pen will be to engage and inspire you the reader, and to take you places, offer you insight and perhaps tug at your thoughts as well as your emotions.

My stories will entertain, educate and enrapture the audience with my hope to create inspiration, admiration, support and passion within our community.

The writing and storytelling I offer varies on the continum of fun and whimisical to geeky and perhaps even emotionally charged at times. The decades of experiences, the passion and relationships I have developed with farmers, producers, a variety of food and beverage producers and professionals in the hospitality industry mixed with travel adventures as well as my ongoing research and education regarding food systems and agricultural practices, will showcase my writing style as a multi-dimensional, unique and interesting perspective.

I strongly believe in taking the time to cultivate and create relationships. Through my thought process, the questions I have, and my unique spin, I offer a creative and sometimes overlooked or under appreciated view on life and those that are woven into it.

Travel writer and blogger

As I travel, I remain true to my “locavore” passion as I seek out and support the markets, restaurants and cafes, vineyards, creameries, locally owned shops, and special events at my particular destinations. Digging for oysters at low tide in the Hood Canal, meeting a local winemaker in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, and visiting with the local cheesemakers In Monroe, Wisconsin are among some of my great memories.

“Destination Locavore”
When planning a trip in the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, Virgin Islands and other Caribbean destinations and are inclined to seek out the nooks and crannies of the local life, let me know, perhaps I can guide you.
